Geospatial World Forum 2019 conference took place on April 2nd-4th in Amsterdam. The conference – organized for 10 years in a row – gathered around 1500 geospatial information specialists from all over the world, including: producers and users of spatial data, developers of IT solutions in the field of geographic information systems (GIS), GIS software developers. The main goal of the conference was to exchange information on spatial data processing in order to utilize the increasing potential of geospatial information and build useful GIS solutions. The conference was an opportunity to learn about new trends in spatial data dissemination as well as technologies to build and develop GIS systems.
Dominik Rozkrut – the President of Statistics Poland – took part in the „#geospatialbydefault – Empowering Billions” discussion panel, opening the conference. Janusz Dygaszewicz – ICT Systems, Geostatistics and Census Department Director – gave a presentation on „Geospatial statistical data integration for decision making and monitoring SDGs” in the GEO4SDGS session, addressing the role of geospatial information in tasks related to sustainable development goals.
