Geostatistics Portal at workshops organized under the GSGF-CARE project in Lisbon

On April 15–17, 2026, employees of the Central Statistical Office, Amelia Wardzińska-Sharif and Mirosław Migacz, are actively participating in international workshops organized as part of the GSGF-CARE project in Lisbon. The event, prepared by Statistics Portugal (INE), focuses on the development of integration between statistical and geospatial data in Europe, as well as on building competencies in this area.

Representatives of the Geostatistics Portal team will lead one of the training sessions entitled “Python for managing geospatial data and processes.” During their presentation, they will showcase practical approaches to automating geoprocessing workflows and the use of the Python language in statistical production. In the later part of the workshops, they will also share their experience in data dissemination, including solutions implemented within the Geostatistics Portal.

The participation of experts from the Central Statistical Office in the workshops constitutes an important contribution to the development of international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge within the European Statistical System.
