Janusz Dygaszewicz, the Director of ICT Systems, Geostatistics and Census Department was elected for the next term of the European Forum for Geography and Statistics presidency.
The announcement took place during the GISCO Working Group for Integration of statistical and geospatial information (the Geographical Information System at the Commission) joined with UN-GGIM: Europe – ESS – UNECE meeting. The event took place on 28 and 29 March 2019 in Eurostat (Luxembourg).
The meeting was attended by many representatives from National Mapping Authorities and National Statistical Institutes and also from a few international organizations working on the integration of statistical and geospatial information.
EFGS (European Forum for Geography and Statistics) is a committee of experts established in 1998 to create a common geostatistical data infrastructure and to develop best practices in the collection, production and dissemination of statistics using GIS (geographic information system) in statistics.
