for using spatial data sets and services of the Geostatistics Portal
- The following terms and conditions apply to usage of spatial data sets and services of the Geostatistics Portal.
- Using the data sets and services of the Geostatistics Portal complies with the provisions of:
- the Act of 29 June 1995 on Official Statistics (Dz. U. (Journal of Laws) of 2024, item 1799);
- the Act of 6 September 2001 on Access to Public Information (Dz. U. (Journal of Laws) of 2016, item 1764, as
amended); - the Act of 17 February 2005 on the Computerisation of Activities of Entities Performing Public Tasks (Dz. U.
(Journal of Laws) of 2019, item 2294, of 2020 item 695); - the Act of 4 March 2010 on Spatial Information Infrastructure (Dz. U. (Journal of Laws) of 2021, item 214);
- the Act of 4 February 1994 on Copyright and Related Rights (Dz. U. (Journal of Laws) of 2021, item 1062, of 2022, item 655, item 631,
as amended); - the Act of 27 July 2001 on the Protection of Databases (Dz. U. (Journal of Laws) of 2021, item 386);
- the Act of 23 April 1964 the Civil Code (Dz. U. (Journal of Laws) of 2021, item 2459).
- The user of the Geostatistics Portal is obliged to read the Terms and Conditions
before using the Portal. Confirmation that the User has read the Terms and Conditions is equivalent to the
User’s statement that he/she understands and accepts them. The User using the spatial data sets and services of
the Geostatistics Portal is obliged to comply with applicable laws, the social and moral norms
and the provisions of these Terms and Conditions. - The Geostatistics Portal enables the spatial data sets to be used by means of the
following spatial data services:
- discovery services, making it possible to search for spatial data sets and services on the basis of the content
of the corresponding metadata and to display the content of the metadata, - view services, making it possible, as a minimum, to display, navigate, zoom in/out, pan, or overlay viewable
data sets and to display explanations to cartographic symbols and any the content of the metadata, - download services, enabling pre-defined spatial data sets to be downloaded.
- discovery services, making it possible to search for spatial data sets and services on the basis of the content
- Access and use of the spatial data services referred to in paragraph 4 is public and free of charge.
- The Goestatistics Portal enables searching for information and combining information from the resources of public statistics with the user own data into the coherent whole and presenting them in a graphic form.
- Access to georeferenced statistical data published on the Geostatistics Portal and
carrying out available analyses and reports of analyses is free of charge. - Reuse of spatial sets or services available on the Geostatistics Portal is
governed respectively by the provisions of the Acts referred to in paragraph 2 of these Terms and Conditions and
the provisions of the implementing acts issued on the basis thereof. - On the Geostatistics Portal it is possible to present via spatial data services, data
managed and administered by other public administration bodies and third parties. - Cartographic presentations generated by user, on the basis of data available in the
Geostatistics Portal, serve only for illustrative purposes and should not be treated as official
documents. - The Central Statistical Office is not responsible for the use of data in breach of the applicable law
and for the use of the information acquired by an entity that is re-using public information exceeding the
granted entitlements. - The Portal users who use public information or any part thereof owned by the Central Statistical
Office, regardless of how it is stored (in paper or electronic form), are obliged to:
- inform about the source of the obtained information by providing the source: geo.stat.gov.pl and the date of download;
- to use the access to public information without disrupting the other users’ access. In the event of excessive or
chronic use of public information, the access can be limited, interrupted or blocked.
- Publishing a link to the Geostatistics Portal on a private or company website is
free of charge, provided the Portal administrator is informed of the website address via e-mail: geo@stat.gov.pl. - The Geostatistics Portal website portal.geo.stat.gov.pl may contain links to websites operated by other public
administration bodies. The User shall use the links to other online resources at his/her own risk. The Central
Statistical Office shall not be responsible for the reliability, timeliness or completeness of the data
contained on the pages to which access can be obtained via the Geostatistics Portal. - When using the spatial data sets and services of the Geostatistics Portal it is
forbidden to: 1. use viruses, bots, worms or other computer codes, scripts or programs that interrupt,
destroy or limit the operation of the Geostatistics Portal or technical infrastructure, or otherwise permit the
unauthorised use of or access to the technical infrastructure of the system, 2. use computer codes, scripts or
programs to automate the use of the services made available by the Geostatistics Portal. - For further clarification or information related to the Terms and Conditions, please send an e-mail
to geo@stat.gov.pl. - The Central Statistical Office shall not be responsible for the lack of access to the
Geostatistics Portal for reasons beyond its control. - The Central Statistical Office for security reasons and for any other reasons beyond its control, has
the right to temporarily suspend access to the Geostatistics Portal, for the time needed to
remove these circumstances. - In matters not covered by these Terms and Conditions the provisions of applicable law shall apply.
- These Terms and Conditions may be changed at any time and in any aspect. The changes shall take
effect following publication thereof on the website.
