The information page of the Geostatistics Portal is fully adapted to the requirements of WCAG 2.1. From the information page, the user enters the individual modules of the Geostatistics Portal, which are map modules.
The available modules are partially compliant with the Act of 4 April 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications operated by public sector bodies due to the non-compliances or the exemptions listed below.
- Due to the framework used, the modules available in the Geostatistics Portal contain elements that, when the NVDA screen reader is activated, are not accessible from the keyboard level.
- Modules available in the Geostatistics Portal have elements that are not accessible from the keyboard due to the use of the drag-and-drop option.
- Modules available in the Geostatistics Portal have elements that are not accessible from the keyboard and are incorrectly read by a screen reader.
- Modules available in the Geostatistics Portal contain maps that may not be accessible to people with disabilities.
- Modules available in the Geostatistics Portal are a typical geoportal (contains maps) and as such is excluded from the obligation to meet the accessibility standards set out in the WCAG 2.1 specification, in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 4 April 4 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Journal of Laws, item 848). The Act on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies does not apply to elements of websites and mobile applications containing: maps and interactive maps, including geoportals, provided that in the case of interactive maps and geoportals intended for navigation applications, contact details and geographical location are presented in a digitally accessible way. It is not feasible to meet all digital accessibility requirements in the case of the PDS system. Statistics Poland has made every effort to improve the comfort of work with the modules of the Geostatistics Portal for people with disabilities.

Everyone has the right to request digital accessibility to the website, mobile application or any elements thereof. You can also request information to be made available using an alternative means of access, for example by reading out a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a video without audio description, etc. The request should contain the data of the person filing the request, indication of the website or mobile application it concerns and contact information. If the requesting person reports the need to receive information by means of an alternative method of access, she/he should also specify a convenient mode of presenting such information to him/her The public entity should promptly fulfil the request, not later than within 7 days from the date the request was filed. If meeting this deadline is not possible, the public entity will promptly notify the person filing the request about the time when the request can be fulfilled, however, this deadline may not exceed 2 months from the date of filing the request. If the provision of digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may offer an alternative access to the information. If the public entity refuses to comply with the request to provide accessibility or an alternative method to access the information, the person filing the request may lodge a complaint regarding the provision of digital accessibility to the website, mobile application or an element of the website or mobile application. After exhausting the above-mentioned procedure, an application may be filed with the Commissioner for Human Rights.
Architectural accessibility
Building: Statistics Poland, Aleja Niepodległości 208, 00-925 Warsaw
There is one main entrance to the building from al. Niepodległości 208. The building consists of seven floors and four wings marked A B C D on each floor.
There are no stairs to the main hall from the outside.
The reception is located straight ahead and to the left of the main entrance. Further passage is secured by gates.
The building of the Statistics Poland is largely adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The stairs in the main hall (block C) are equipped with movable platforms for transporting a wheelchair, and the suitable width of circulation area is ensured inside the building. The lifts are equipped with voice information and signage for blind persons. Block D of the Statistics Poland building, where the Central Statistical Library is located, is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, i.e.: it has a appropriately wide entrance door, a staircase, an entrance platform for people in wheelchairs; the reading room has a non-slip floor, and the toilets are adapted to the needs of the disabled people. There are 6 toilets in the building adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
Toilets for the disabled are located on the ground floor of the main hall, on the right side of the entrance, and four on individual floors (floors I, III, V and VI).
There are 7 parking spaces for the disabled people in front of the building.
There are no induction loops in the Statistics Poland building.
There are no signs in the building in Braille or high-contrast or enlarged print for the blind and visually impaired persons.
